The Community of Lone Pine puts on a number of events throughout the year. These events are an important way for a small desert tourism based community such as ours to bring dollars into our economy and to raise money for local services and causes.

The Community of Lone Pine is known for its get-it-done, make-it-happen attitude. Voluntarism runs high because we know that we all depend on each other in this hard land.

Fish until 3PM weigh in.



$5.00 Entry fee for Children 12 and under

$10.00 Entry fee for adults

Breakfast burritos and coffee available at sign up Tacos and hot dogs available for lunch

Prizes for kids under 12, juniors up to 15, and adults.

Our trout derby is made possible through the donations of our members and hard work of our local volunteers.

 A trail race that goes through the great Alabama Hills and the foothills of Mt. Whitney. Water stops every three miles. There is a 50K, a marathon,  a ten mile and a 3 mile race. Something for every runner and the trail is walker friendly. If you want clean air safe surroundings and beautiful scenery, if you and your family would like to enjoy a day of running or you want to run a challenging race this is the place to be the first Saturday of every May.

 

In 2007 the long held marathon record was broken by Dan Yarborough from Bishop CA.

For 2012, the Lone Pine Committee celebrates our 42nd Anniversary - 42 years of flat-out-fun! You'll get a big course that's over 2 miles long, run one way on Saturday and the other on Sunday. This course will provide a challenge for all, whether in modified, prepared, street prepared, stock or vintage. Don’t be left to hear the stories from all your friends of a great weekend - Be There! The Manzanar Airstrip: Located on US 395, 10 miles north of the city of Lone Pine at the Manzanar Reward street sign (on the right, may be hard to see at night), go 1/4 mile east and you're there.

Starts in Badwater Death Valley, this is a hard core endurance cycling ride. Race begins at 3 PM Saturday in Badwater Death Valley. Total of 130 miles and over 15,000 feet of climbing to the base of Mount Whitney. Email jair@summitadventure.com

Santa will be arriving in Lone Pine at 1:30pm by firetruck, raindeer only work on Christmas Eve, and he will be going to the VFW to despense good cheer and candy.  Afterwards be sure to go to the Museum for Live music and Christmas treats.  There will be craft tables set up for kids to make decorations and the movie, "The miracle on 34th St" will be shown.  Everyone is invited
